Berryville Main Street’s Fire House Gallery and Shop, in partnership with the Barns of Rose Hill and the Clarke County Historical Association, is pleased to announce that shares in its Community Supported Art (CSA) program, will be available for purchase starting Friday, November 11th.
The CSA program, which is designed to showcase and promote art in our region, is modeled on the Community Support Agriculture movement, which encourages consumers to buy seasonal foods directly from local farms.
Each shareholder will receive a basket featuring the work of three Fire House Gallery artists. The handcrafted items include a watercolor vignette from Berryville painter and sculptor, Russ Harrison, a piece of functional pottery, such as a coffee mug or bowl from Woodstock potter, Kary Haun, and a fused glass pendant from Round Hill glass artist, Heather Mansfield.
In addition, shareholders will receive three bonus items in their baskets:
-
Two-for-one concert ticket from the Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville, Virginia
-
Two tickets to the fall or spring Art at the Mill show in Millwood, Virginia, and
-
CD from one of two popular local bands: Golden Butter Band or Where’s Aubrey
Needless to say the contents of the basket far exceeds the modest purchase price of $50, making it a great value whether given as a single gift or broken apart for individual gift-giving.
Just 25 shares are available for sale. Reserve now by clicking the “Contact Us” button to provide your name and phone number for follow-up. Or call the gallery directly at 540 955-4001.
The baskets will be ready for pick-up at a special reception Friday evening, December 2nd beginning at 5:00pm at the gallery. The gathering will allow shareholders to meet the artists as well as fellow shareholders who are demonstrating support of the arts through their purchase.
The CSA initiative is made possible by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the
