Glass

“The qualities of glass -- including its color, shine and translucency   add enormously to its possibilities for self-expression.”

I have always loved glass, working first in stained glass and then buying a kiln and moving to fused glass in the mid-nineties after taking a class with Oregon master glass artist, Martha Wolf.  Still later I became interested in working with Bullseye Glass, which is made in Portland, after taking classes with master glass artist, Richard LaLonde.

My work is influenced by abstract art, architecture, geology, and beautiful textiles. I like being able to create a variety of things with glass, many functional, such as wood boxes with glass lids, clocks, vases, lamps, platters, and candle holders.  On these pieces I collaborate with my husband Larry, who does the metal work, and my brother who is a gifted woodworker.
