A recent customer sent an email to say ...

"I was so impressed with the gallery. It had every kind of art:  water-colors, oil, acrylic, pen and ink, linens, sculpture, jewelry, scarves ... even a children's book written by a local.

All tasteful - actually more than that- inspired! What a place!!  Not so big.  Just the right size for wandering.

Crisp and clean yet keeping with the reminder that it was once a Fire House from the 1930's."  C. Borchardt, Vienna, Virginia

Watch our progress

Watch our progress over the next few months as we go from demolition to restoration.  Below you can see photos from when the building was a firehouse, the town office, and currently in its waiting stage for work to begin. View some of the plans.

The building has undergone major changes since our launch in late August.  All interior walls have been torn out, bathroom floor adjusted to make it handicap accessible and asbestos removed from walls and floors. Next up -- grinding and polishing the original concrete floor to suit its new life in the gallery and shop. To provide access for the large equipment needed to do this work, the exterior window walls were removed and temporary boarding put in their place where they will remain until the glass storefront panels are installed in November.

When the floor is finished interior finish work will begin in earnest -- installing lighting, cabinetry, new air conditioning ductwork.  Check back in a couple weeks for the next update.

We hope you've seen our banner hanging on the front of the building and brochures  -- in the small receptacle - describing the project and inviting you to become a Founder.  When you're next in town we invite you to stop by and peek in the windows and pick up a brochure.

The building has really seen some transformation.  The biggest change is to the front facade with the new windows installed today.  The heating/ac system is in it's final stages and trimwork and doors are being installed.  The walls have been painted and the floor has been finished down to the original concrete.  The contractors are just days now from finishing - next up... Fill the place with art!!
