A recent customer sent an email to say ...

"I was so impressed with the gallery. It had every kind of art:  water-colors, oil, acrylic, pen and ink, linens, sculpture, jewelry, scarves ... even a children's book written by a local.

All tasteful - actually more than that- inspired! What a place!!  Not so big.  Just the right size for wandering.

Crisp and clean yet keeping with the reminder that it was once a Fire House from the 1930's."  C. Borchardt, Vienna, Virginia

Allen Kitselman, architect and a principal of Main Street Architecture, took on the challenge of creating a space that would:

Incorporate the look of the original façade to reflect its fire house “beginnings” Open up the ceiling and interior walls to create a light and airy space Make it affordable for a small community to build

In addition to his architectural “day job,” Kitselman serves on the Berryville town council, oversees its improvement committee and chairs the Berryville Area Development Authority. Given this background, it’s no surprise that Kitselman has been the spark plug and prime mover behind the Fire House Gallery Shop revitalization project. He not only donated his time, he has agreed to stay on and oversee the project to completion.
